Do the rental fees go toward purchasing the cymbal (rent to own)?
We believe there's value in being able to try out a cymbal on your own kit before committing to purchase and Cymbal Swap makes it easy to return if it's not what you are looking for. Rental fees do not go toward the purchase of the cymbal. The minimum rental duration is 7 days which is non-refundable, but if you rent for more than 7 days and purchase, we'll refund you the prorated rental fees and refund the return shipping.
Where is Cymbal Swap located?
Cymbal Swap is located in Corinth, TX in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We do not have a physical location that is open to the public at this time.
What are the benefits of renting a cymbal versus purchasing?
Cymbal Swap is the only platform that allows you to try out a new cymbal to help you find and level up the sound of your drums. It can take years and/or a lot of money, buying new cymbals to see what types or sizes work best for your style of drumming. Cymbal Swap makes it easy to try out hundreds of hand picked cymbals!
Rental Period
Choose from 7, 14, 21 or 28 day rental periods. You will not be billed during transit time. Your Cymbal Swap rental period begins when the cymbal is marked as delivered and ends when your package is scanned in at an authorized shipping center. Make sure to get a drop off receipt to verify when you drop off your cymbal. After the 7 day minimum rental period, rental fees are prorated based on when they are dropped off.
Where can I find the prices for the cymbals?
Cymbal purchase prices are listed in the cymbal description page. You can purchase a cymbal directly or you have the option to rent and then purchase through your account dashboard once you receive the rented cymbal.
What happens if I crack or damage a cymbal?
We understand that cymbals can crack under certain conditions. It’s important that you inspect the cymbal upon arrival and let us know if there is any damage. If you find a crack at any point, let us know. Cracks on a brand new cymbal will need to be purchased and may be eligible for replacement under the manufacturer warranty. Used cymbals will be accessed on a per case basis at Cymbal Swap’s discretion.
Will I be charged for a rental during transit time?
No, your rental begins once the shipment has been marked as "delivered" by the shipping service and the rental ends when you drop off with a shipping service and the package is scanned in as "dropped off". Make sure to get a drop off receipt as proof of drop off at the shipping location. We highly suggest not to use a shipping drop off box for returns.
Do hi-hats count as 1 or 2 cymbal rentals?
Hi-hats always come in a set and are considered as 1 cymbal rental.

We only accept cymbals that are in good condition without signs of damage or excessive wear. If we are interested in the cymbal, we'll email you an estimate for a Cymbal Swap store credit. If you agree with the amount, we'll send you a prepaid shipping label to send us your cymbal. You'll just need a box and packing materials. If you don't have a box, most shipping centers can package your cymbals for a small fee.
Upon arrival at Cymbal Swap we'll further inspect the cymbal for damage and make sure the description you provided is accurate. If the cymbals look good, we'll notify you and issue the store credit which can be used for future rentals & purchases. How should I rate my cymbal?
Excellent Condition - The cymbal appears new, mint, or slightly used. Logo ink is solid without fading. There's no signs of imperfections or damage such as cracks, fleabites, keyholing or scratches. No heavy stick marks or oxidation present.
Good Condition - The cymbal appears used, but does not have any damage. Logo Ink may be faded, there may be signs of imperfections such as small scratches, stick marks, but still lots of life left in it.
Fair Condition - The cymbal appears used, has imperfections such as scratches, stick marks, fleabites, or slight keyholing. Logos or ink may not be present. Brilliant cymbals may be faded and vintage cymbals may have patina or oxidation. We may or may not take cymbals in fair condition and evaluate on a case by case basis.
Poor Condition - The cymbal may be damaged or show heavy signs of use. We do not accept any cymbals in poor condition.
