Bosphorus Cymbals was established in 1996 by three master cymbal smiths, Hasan Seker, Ibrahim Yakici and Hasan Ozdemir. They are called Masters because they are the most experienced cymbal smiths in Turkey who are still working actively.
The founders of Bosphorus were three good friends who grew up in the same neighborhood. Their common thread was being sent to work in a neighborhood cymbal workshop. Their humble beginings included cleaning the workshop and other menial tasks, but in time they were trained in the art of making cymbals. In the early ages of their youth they became cymbal smiths. Their teachers were the masters who manufactured the legendary cymbals of 60&rsquo;s and 70&rsquo;s.
After 16 years at the same workshop the friends ventured off on their own and established their own company. Today they maintain good relationships with their former employers. The Masters continue to respect their teachers to this day.
Bosphorus Cymbals has a strong team of cymbal smiths whom are trained at the Bosphorus Factory and most of them working for the company since day one. The Masters continue to craft in the workshop with their workers, guiding them to create the perfect cymbals with their 36 years of experience.

Sertan spent 32 years at Istanbul (Both Agop and Mehmet after the split) where he was trained and eventually taught the use of the coveted Turkish B20 alloy. From there he started what would soon become the leading Turkish cymbal company.&nbsp;
Now available for the first time in the United States are Sertan&rsquo;s authentic Turkish cymbals. Constantine offers rides, crashes, hi-hats, splashes, chinas, and symphonic cymbals and gongs.

Filip Madejski (born in 1987 in Warsaw, Poland) is a musician, audiovisual maker and producer, experimental drummer and composer. From 2010 to 2016 he studied at the Faculty of Media Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He took part in numerous music projects at the intersection of discourses and disciplines of art. Since 2019 he has being developing an independent cymbal workshop F. Madejski Cymbals Manufacture. He lives and works in Warsaw.

Agop Tomurcuk, was born in Istanbul-Turkey in 1941. Growing up in the Samatya neighborhood of Istanbul, he followed in the footsteps of his older brothers Oksant and Garbis, by beginning work as an apprentice cymbal-smith at the age of 9 at the only cymbal factory in Turkey. Here, Agop learned, and later helped to refine every aspect of the cymbal making process, becoming a master at every process and eventually becoming the chief cymbal-smith, until that company ceased production of their cymbals in Turkey in 1977.

Independent Cymbalsmith JD Sagurton - Mahwah, NJ 
As a lifelong drummer, JD Sagurton always struggled to find cymbals with the vibe, feel and sounds that he desired. His first cymbal modification was a very crude hammer job on one of his horrible sounding B8 rides, where he literally used a regular hammer and the sidewalk as his anvil! Of course, the result wasn&rsquo;t great, but it was enough of an improvement to pique his curiosity, and he started to modify any cymbals he could get his hands on.
After a few years tinkering with sketchy, experimental tool setups, (built his first anvil out of an old dumbbell), JD Sagurton finally designed and built a proper cymbal lathe, and furthered his Journey as a self-taught cymbal smith. Soon, his passion for creating unique cymbals led him to seek mentorship from renowned experts in the field. He was&nbsp;fortunate to have had the opportunity to train under the established master cymbal smiths, Nick Margarite (Nicky Moon), and Dave Collingwood.&nbsp;

Mike Mongiello is an Independent Cymbalsmith hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began his journey as a maker after obsessing over his own cymbal sound palette while playing in bands across many styles for over 20 years.&nbsp;
Having no prior experience in metalworking, Mike began creating exclusively in the stainless steel format to teach himself the basics of cold-impact shaping. Before long he graduated himself to work in Turkish b20 bronze, attracting the attention of Master Cymbalsmith Francisco Domene, who extended an invitation to study traditional methods at his factory in Avar&eacute;, Brazil.
Now, operating in a small workshop in South Philadelphia, Mike crafts each instrument from start to finish by hand with the finest materials available.

Paul Francis spent decades learning everything there is to know about cymbal making, earning an engineering degree, and inventing countless techniques, sounds, and breakthrough cymbal models. Paul became known as one of the premier cymbal makers in the world. He created the Cymbal Craftsman boutique line of cymbals and set up a cymbal custom shop, which includes modifications and fully customized cymbal offerings. He has now teamed up with Sarah Hagan to launch the Royal Cymbal Company to encompass standard cymbal models, as well as the Cymbal Craftsman line and custom shop.
Over the years, Paul and Sarah have worked together, along with the world&rsquo;s greatest drummers, to create many of the modern cymbal sounds you hear in live music and on countless recordings. They continuing to do this into the future with Royal Cymbals!
